In this article, Alex Chan describes how she has struggled to find the right organization scheme (I can relate). She eventually latched on to creating simple static websites to browse local archives. Benefits include:

I’ve stumbled upon a similar idea of using “maps” of topics as like an index, but with descriptive context to help the individual topics from a whole. The idea of using static sites for general purpose things, like browsing screenshots, had not occurred to me. I like it.

This article spawned a second thought: I like web browsing, but I wish I could save websites as a single standalone file.

One thing I really appreciate about this article is that Chan describes the things that she tried that didn’t work for her and why. That kind of honest writing is helpful to keep people from going down the wrong path.
